In the early 1960's, the Jazzmaster was Fender's top-of-the-line guitar - above the Stratocaster and Telecaster. The Jazzmaster has long had its fans - Tom Verlaine and Elvis Costello among them - but it's been traditionally overlooked because of the popularlity of the Strat and Tele. This seems to be changing, though, as both players and collectors have begun seeking out good Jazzmasters because of their unique sound, excellent playability, and quality of construction. Values of good original Jazzmasters are on the rise.

This variant is arguably the most highly sought-after - finished in Olympic White with matching headstock. Fenders from 1963 have "L" serial numbers and the later rosewood curved fingerboards, and the necks have that "just right" feel - among the best Fender ever made, in my opinion. This Jazzmaster is all original, frets included, with the exception of the string tension bar on the tremolo, which is easily removable with no alteration.

The finish shows honest play wear, so it's not mint, but all-original guitars like these are becoming harder and harder to find. Comes with period brown Tolex case.
