This is a spectacular example of the craftsmanship of Gene Matisko.  A small builder based in Austin, Texas, Matisko guitars are very rare.  Most famously used by Eddie Van Halen, Gene's instruments are impeccably constructed, with excellent playability and sound.

This jumbo model is built in the very cool combination of highly figured cherry for the back and sides with a Sitka spruce top.  Awesome low end with sweet trebles, it's a fanstastic instrument live or in the studio, without the boominess often associated with jumbo guitars.
